Cookie Policy
Doorlyn uses only the cookies and browser storage it needs to work. We don’t use advertising, analytics or social media cookies, so there is nothing to opt into.
Cookies we set
| Name | What it does | How long | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
dl_usage | Counts how many books you have made this month, so the plan allowance works without an account. Signed so it can’t be edited. | 40 days | Essential, first-party |
sb-* | Keeps you signed in if you use an account. | Session, or up to 1 week if you stay signed in | Essential, first-party |
Browser storage
These items are saved in your own browser’s local storage and are never sent to us automatically:
| Key | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
doorlyn-draft-v1 | Your unfinished notes in the book maker, so a reload doesn’t lose them | Until you clear it |
doorlyn-last-book-v1 | The last book you made, so you can download it again | Until you clear it |
doorlyn-cookie-notice | Remembers that you’ve seen the cookie notice | Until you clear it |
You can remove all of these from the account page (“Clear this browser”) or through your browser settings.
Payment pages
When you subscribe, you complete payment on our payment provider’s secure page. That provider may set its own strictly necessary cookies for fraud prevention and security, under its own cookie policy.
Why we don’t ask for consent
Under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations and the EU ePrivacy Directive, consent is not required for storage that is strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for. Every item above falls into that category. If we ever add optional cookies, we will ask first and make refusing as easy as accepting.
